This immersive joyshop is designed to introduce you to the profound practices of Yoga Nidra and Yoga Talk, weaving in the philosophical underpinnings of yoga as a means to manage distress and cultivate inner peace.
Our expert instructors will guide you through Yoga Pranayama, an array of breathing techniques pivotal in balancing energy and emotions, and deepening your understanding of their role in managing distress. As part of the workshop, we delve into the philosophy of yoga that addresses distress, providing tools and insights to navigate life’s challenges with resilience and equanimity.
The workshop concludes with a session of Yoga Nidra—known as yogic sleep—a guided meditation practice inducing deep relaxation, healing, and integration of the day’s learning. Whether you’re a yoga novice or an experienced practitioner, this workshop offers the opportunity to deep-dive into yoga philosophy, pranayama, and nidra, enriching your daily life, and fostering peace, balance, and self-awareness.

Yoga Nidra and Yoga Talk Workshop Schedule
9:00 AM – 9:30 AM:
Introduction and Warm-Up. We begin our playshop with a brief introduction to the day’s activities, followed by a gentle warm-up session to prepare our bodies and minds for the practice of yoga.
9:30 AM – 10:30 AM: Yoga Talk
Next, we delve into the philosophy and principles of yoga. This interactive session serves as a platform to discuss yoga’s origins, its benefits, and how it can be incorporated into our daily lives.
10:30 AM – 11:00 AM: Introspection & Yin
We understand the importance of rest in any intense activity. Use this time to dive deeper within and mentally prepare for the next session.
11:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Breath Work
In this hour, we will explore the essential element of yoga – breath work (Pranayama). You’ll learn various breathing techniques, and we’ll discuss their importance in yoga and how they impact our health and wellbeing.
12:00 PM – 12:30 PM: Yoga Nidra
We conclude our workshop with a session of Yoga Nidra, also known as yogic sleep. This guided meditation practice promotes deep rest and relaxation, allowing you to fully integrate the day’s learnings on a subconscious level.

Ayurveda Day Retreat
Sunday January 28, 2024 from 9 am – 5 pm
Embark on a day of purification and balance with our Ayurvedic Detox Retreat. Ayurveda, an ancient Indian medical system, offers holistic healing techniques that cleanse the body, mind, and soul. We’ll kickstart the day at 9am with an Introduction to Ayurveda and Dosha Assessment, enabling you to understand your unique body constitution and the ways to balance it. * If you already know some of this, the review of Prakruti and Vikruti will be very beneficial.
Following the assessment, we’ll move into the Ayurvedic Cooking and Nutrition Session. Here, you’ll learn about nutritious, dosha-balancing foods and techniques to cleanse toxins from your body.
After lunch, our Ayurvedic Self-Care Rituals Workshop will guide you through practices like dry brushing, oil pulling, and making our own nutritional & herbal remedies, all aimed at promoting detoxification and rejuvenation.
Later in the afternoon, we’ll indulge in a Yoga and Pranayama Session, complementing our Ayurvedic practices with physical postures and breathwork tailored to your dosha type.
The retreat will come to a close with an Evening Meditation and Reflection Session at 5pm, allowing you to absorb the day’s teachings and insights. This retreat, with its focus on cleansing and balance, is a fantastic opportunity to reset your health, refine your habits, and reconnect with your innate vitality.
In the Ayurvedic Cooking and Nutrition Session, we’ll not only learn about the importance of nutritious, dosha-balancing foods but also get hands-on experience making ghee and Kitchari.
Ghee, a clarified butter, is a staple in Ayurvedic cooking known for its nourishing properties. We’ll guide you through the process of slow-simmering butter to create this golden, flavorful cooking fat, explaining its myriad health benefits along the way.
Kitchari, a comforting mélange of basmati rice and mung dal, is traditionally used in Ayurvedic detox diets. We’ll teach you how to prepare this simple, yet nutritionally complete dish, and how to tweak the recipe according to your dosha.
These hearty, wholesome snacks will fuel you throughout the day, further enhancing the detoxification and rejuvenation process. Get ready to expand your culinary repertoire and discover the healing power of Ayurvedic cooking!

11:00 AM – 1:00 PM: Ayurvedic Cooking Class – Roll up your sleeves for a hands-on experience in making ghee and Kitchari, the cornerstones of Ayurvedic cooking.
1:00 – 2:00 PM: Lunch & Relaxation – Relish the dishes we’ve prepared during the cooking class, and take a moment to unwind.
2:00 – 3:30 PM: Ayurvedic Treatments – Immerse yourself in traditional Ayurvedic treatments that facilitate detoxification and rejuvenation.
3:30 – 4:30 PM: Yoga and Pranayama Session – Master physical postures and breathing techniques aligned with your dosha type.
