Here is a personal story of Ayurveda I would like to share. Prior to my studies with the California College of Ayurveda and my time spent in Kerala, India learning Ayurvedic Health Practices from doctors and practitioners, I was very unhealthy.
Upon extensive research, and additional reading I began to change what I ate, made some herbal remedies, applied special oil on my skin and made significant lifestyle changes which included specific exercises both for my body and mind. Within a few weeks, my hands and face looked normal, the swelling and pain had subsided and the rashes were gone.
This was the beginning of my journey into Ayurveda for health and healing. I read everything I could find about Ayurveda and dove deep into the vast and wonderful ocean of this knowledge. I traveled across the globe to study with various Ayurvedic teachers, doctors and practitioners. I came back to my home here in Alberta living in various locations such as Calgary, Edmonton and Banff. Edmonton is now my home where I continue to practice and teach this wonderful art and science.
What I have learned is Ayurveda works on many levels. In addition to healing myself, it has helped tremendously for students and clients. I have witnessed it make an amazing difference in so many lives. It takes some commitment and discipline as well as a willingness to learn and change. I also understand that habits and routines can feel difficult to change.
